§ 4-1. Adoption of Florida Building Code; amendments.

  • (a)

    The Florida Building Commission has adopted the Florida Building Code, which contains or incorporates by reference all laws and rules that pertain to and govern the design, construction, erection, alteration, modification, repair, and demolition of public and private buildings and structures, and the enforcement of such laws and rules. The initial adoption of, and any subsequent update or amendment to, the Florida Building Code by the Florida Building Commission is hereby adopted for use without adoption by the town pursuant to F.S. § 553.73(6), and is incorporated into the Town Code as if fully set forth herein.

    (b)

    It is the intent of this section to maintain the highest standards for building and construction in the Town of Jupiter Inlet Colony. Therefore, in the event of a conflict between the standards and requirements of the several codes hereby adopted, the more stringent provision shall prevail.

    (c)

    All flashing shall be copper metal unless copper metal is physically incompatible with the roofing material.
