§ 18-71. Tax levied.

(a)

Effective January 1, 2013, the town hereby levies and imposes a local communications services tax as provided in F.S. § 202.19, at the rate of 5.10 percent.

(b)

Upon the date of the adoption of this ordinance, the town elects to not require and collect permit fees from any provider of communications services that uses or occupies municipal roads or rights-of-way for the provision of communications services, as provided by F.S. § 337.401(3)(c) and (j). Effective January 1, 2013, the town elects to increase its total local communications services tax rate by the amount of 0.12 percent. Therefore, effective January 1, 2013 in the aggregate, the combined local communications services tax for the town shall be 5.22 percent.
